Our First Promotion
So today begins our first promotion. And like everything, we figured we might as well start small and see what happens. So this is a pretty focussed one. Every Monday until the end of April, anyone who comes into our Yonge and Eglinton location, that can show that they are a student, can get a Classic grilled cheese, with our chips or salad and a bottle of Boylan’s vintage soda for $7 all...

The Jaw-Droppin' Hot-Steppin' Heart-Stoppin'...
I give you The Jaw-Droppin’ Hot-Steppin’ Heart-Stoppin’ Jalapeño Popper! When Narbir came up with The Hotstepper, the first thing that came to my mind was that this was perfect for epicness of Jalapeño Popper origins. This 1.33 lbs beast is awesomeness, in grilled cheese form. How is it made? Well, throw a whole pile of Jalapeño Havarti mixed with honey-roasted Jalapeños and...
ms-adventures-in-baking asked: Do you intend to post nutritional information at any point? I realize that with a revolving menu this can present a challenge, but those of us who are watching what we eat and would like to include your fine fare occasionally would love to have the details!

The Epic
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done an epic version of anything, so I broke down today and decided to go for it. I had a bunch of great ideas for the Southern Hospitality in terms of epicness, but it ran out before I got a chance to play around. Well, I didn’t let that happen with The Hotstepper. What follows is a step by step account of some amazing epicness.

Here Comes The Hotstepper
Today we finally get our new special after some drawn out decision making, but I think it’s worth the wait, particularly for those of you that like a bit of heat. This one brings us back to something more along the lines of a traditional grilled cheese, after the fun and funkiness of Southern Hospitality. For this one we are using our Jalapeño Havarti, a nice and spicy Genoa Salami and some...

A Day Of Rest
While The Construction Site is generally open 7 days a week, sometimes you just need a day to relax and recharge. So we’re taking the lovely opportunity of Family Day to shut our doors for a day and take advantage of some collective “me” time. Maybe in this case it’s “we” time? Well whatever it is, we’ll be seeing you all again on Tuesday. I hope you all...

You Don't Win Friends with Salad
While those words have never been more apt, we made the decision pretty early on that we probably needed to have a salad option just in case there were crazy people out there that didn’t want rosemary potato chips with their grilled cheese. Well after a few months of playing around we’ve finally settled on a salad to include in our menu. On Monday at Sherway Gardens and today at Yonge...

So Much for Southern Hospitality
Well that title might sound a bit too negative, considering Southern Hospitality was quite the hit. So much so, that I didn’t even get a chance to make an epic version before we ran out of ingredients. That’s really disappointing too, because I had an amazing idea for that epic. Oh well, I’ll just save up the creative energies and put them to good use with the next feature. And...

A Crazy Week
Well I guess it’s been more than a crazy week. I just noticed today that I hadn’t updated the specials page (which is now the features page) since the Miss Piggy was our Featured grilled cheese. Now that’s about a month overdue, with the page never getting Ze Hüntbürg, The French Connection or Southern Hospitality. Well at least I got a chance to fix that today. I also got a...

Good Old Fashioned Southern Hospitality
So it’s been a bad week for posts and The Special. I really dropped the ball on keeping the site updated with where things were at with the special. I could blame it on a few things, but there a no excuses. Luckily, our newest Special selector, Darryl pulled me from my funk with an amazing Special. You are all in for a treat this week, because Darryl challenged us. He really came up with the...
